We also believe everyone should be able to afford it. I can confirm that the latest installer of XG as of today Dec 06, still has the “no boot device” issue after installation on some hardware. If I check the harddrive in my pc with or without a harddrive tool the drive seems empty, no partition.
The mode settings I have suggested may make it sufficiently backwards compatible to work.
This means installing ahcci on, say, a gig hard drive which is what my machines happen to use takes a very long time. Installed but wont boot on Dell R II Bare Metal Have tried installing a few times and always get “no boot device available” after reboot of install.

In reply to JD MaC: For systems that do not install on bare metal I use VM and then do an install. That drive provides a bootloader, then boots XG from the hard drive like it normally would. This means it’s now an officially bootable, MBR, fat32 partition.
